How to help

Thank you for desiring to help our community by volunteering at Onslow Community Outreach. Our ability to serve the community effectively is dependent on volunteers and private contributions.

There are times, especially Thanksgiving-Christmas, which we receive more volunteer requests than we are unable to accommodate due to the size of our facilities and program timeframes. Please consider increasing our capacity to the serve the community in the following ways:

Financial $50 gas cards for Soup Kitchen trucks. Faith organizations and church donations to continue the Benevolence Fund. Clinic donations to purchase one box of fifty diabetic test strips ($20); two boxes of test strips ($40); and a testing meter ($10). Financial donations from civic organizations, individuals and business to sustain organizational capacity. Christmas Cheer donations to buy toys and food.

Sponsorships Sponsor Onslow Oktoberfest or become a Friend of the Festival. Sponsor a needy family during Christmas Cheer or sponsor the Christmas Cheer building.
Supplies Insulin, diabetic test strips and matching glucometers. Paper products (boxes of plates, cups, napkins, forks, spoons, knives). Cleaning products for the kitchen/building. Laundry detergent for shelter. Personal hygiene items for homeless persons. Large trash bags.

Volunteers, Doctors and physician assistants/nurse practitioners are always needed, specifically Tuesday and Thursday evenings and Saturday mornings.
