Founded in 1990, Onslow Community Outreach is a 501c3 nonprofit. Programs are Soup Kitchen, Homeless Shelter, Caring Community Clinic and Christmas Cheer. Collectively, our programs inspire, empower and change lives of 8,000 vulnerable residents of Onslow County.
The organization adds to the cultural offerings of Eastern North Carolina by sponsoring Onslow Oktoberfest. The festival is held downtown Jacksonville on the fourth Saturday in October and attracts about 12,000 patrons.
We invite persons who would like to serve on the Onslow Community Outreach Board of Directors to submit a letter of interest. Please describe your compatibility with OCO’s purpose, illustrated commitment to nonprofit benevolence and stewardship, unique or distinctive qualifications and experiences, and how your membership will reflect the broad spectrum of our supporters and clients.
Mail the letter to Board Development Committee, Attn: Donald Herring, Chairman, 600 Court Street, Jacksonville, 28540. Due by July 21, 2017.
Members of the development committee will submit their recommendations to the board on August 17. Orientation of new members is tentatively scheduled to take place during August 28 – 31. New members will take office September 21.There will be a formal installation during our annual meeting on February 15, 2018.
